🇮🇹 Dr. Stefano Colasanto

Dr. Stefano Colasanto brings together orthodontics, osteopathy, myofunctional therapy, and postural medicine to explore the relationships between malocclusion, swallowing, TMJ function, and posture.
Graduated with honors in Dentistry in Rome in 1989, with a thesis about the links between posture and malocclusion. In 1992, he attended the Tweed Foundation in Tucson (Arizona). He specialized in Functional Orthodontics in 1991 and in Orthodontics in 1994. After attending courses in Applied Kinesiology, in 2000 he earned the Diploma in Osteopathy from CERDO in Rome, where he has been teaching diagnosis and manipulative techniques within the oral cavity until 2024. Since 2002, Myofunctional Therapy has been applied according to the Garliner technique. In 2004, he attended the course in Neuro-Muscular Gnathology according to Jankelson; in 2006, Dr. Planas’s course in Barcelona (Spain); and the course in "Neurostomatology" in Italy. In 2007, he co-authored the book "The New Orthodontics". Since then, he has taught at the Master's in "Neurophysiology and pathology of static and dynamic postures", "Myofunctional therapy in postural field", and "Dentistry in developmental age".
Ordinary member of the Italian Orthodontic Society (SIDO) since 1995 and of ROI (Italian Register of Osteopaths) since 2001.
In 2024, he translated Richard Baxter’s “Tongue Tied” into Italian.
At his clinic in Rome, he primarily studies correlations among TMJ problems, malocclusion, swallowing, and posture using the osteopathic approach.
