Dr. Nada Makki-Karnib is a speech pathologist, biomedical scientist, and researcher integrating orofacial myology, feeding and swallowing, airway health, speech, and dentofacial development across the lifespan.
Dr Nada Makki-Karnib is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP), Biomedical Scientist, and founder of Q Speech Hub and the Australian Orofacial Myology Collaboration (AOMC). With more than 22 years of combined experience in biomedical science and speech pathology, she has a special interest in orofacial myology, tethered oral tissues, feeding and swallowing disorders, sleep-disordered breathing, airway health, and dentofacial development across the lifespan.
Nada completed her doctorate investigating the effectiveness of oromyofunctional therapy for school-aged children with interdental speech sound disorders and is recognised internationally for her work integrating speech pathology, oral function, airway health, and multidisciplinary care. She regularly presents at national and international conferences and provides education to speech pathologists, dentists, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, and lactation consultants. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Consortium of Ankyloglossia Professionals (ICAP).
Through her clinical, educational, and research work, Nada is passionate about advancing evidence-informed approaches that optimise communication, feeding, breathing, sleep, and overall function across the lifespan.
