Dr. Beatriz Dutra combines pediatric dentistry, laser therapy, and clinical research with a particular focus on oral frenula, breastfeeding, ankyloglossia diagnosis, and lingual frenectomy in infants and children.
Dr. Beatriz Dutra is a dentist and Doctoral Student in Clinical Dentistry – Pediatric Dentistry at São Leopoldo Mandic. She holds a Master’s degree in Pediatric Dentistry and is a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry.
She is certified in Laser Therapy by the Special Laboratory of Lasers in Dentistry at the University of SĂŁo Paulo School of Dentistry (LELO/FOUSP), where she also serves as a collaborating researcher.
Her clinical, academic, and scientific work focuses particularly on the assessment of oral frenula in infants and children, breastfeeding, diagnosis of ankyloglossia, lingual frenectomy, and the application of lasers in clinical practice.
She is also actively involved in professional education, teaching courses and lecturing in Brazil and internationally on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of lingual frenulum alterations, including the use of high-power lasers.
She is one of the authors of the book Oral Frenula and Breastfeeding, published in Portuguese, Spanish, and French. She is also the author of scientific articles and book chapters and conducts research related to ankyloglossia, diagnostic protocols, and the use of different laser wavelengths in lingual frenectomies.
Her professional practice is guided by the integration of scientific evidence, careful diagnosis, surgical safety, and appropriate clinical follow-up.
