Dr. Jenny Thomas is a pediatrician and breastfeeding medicine specialist whose clinical, academic, and leadership work has made her a leading voice on ankyloglossia and its impact on breastfeeding.

Dr. Jenny Thomas is a board-certified pediatrician and breastfeeding medicine specialist with over 25 years of clinical experience, currently practicing at Advocate Health Care in Franklin, Wisconsin. She holds a Master of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin, is a Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and is board-certified in Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine (NABBLM-C), where she also serves as a Subject Matter Expert.

Dr. Thomas is a leading voice on ankyloglossia and its impact on breastfeeding. She was a co-author of the American Academy of Pediatrics' 2024 Clinical Report, Identification and Management of Ankyloglossia and Its Effect on Breastfeeding in Infants, and serves as a content expert for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's work group on ankyloglossia. Her widely presented talk, All Tied Up: Identification and Management of Ankyloglossia and its Effect on Breastfeeding in Infants, has been delivered at conferences and grand rounds across the United States and internationally.

A longtime leader within the AAP Section on Breastfeeding, including service on its Executive Team and now as Chair, Dr. Thomas is also a contributing author to the AAP/ACOG Breastfeeding Handbook for Physicians and a frequent contributor to AAP News on infant feeding and tongue-tie topics.
