🇩🇪 Dr. Can-Florian Keles

Dental Surgeon

Dr. Can-Florian Keles (MSc) is an interdisciplinary researcher investigating oral posture, craniofacial development, airway health, and early functional diagnostics at the intersection of orthodontics and myofunctional therapy.

I am a researcher with a strong interdisciplinary focus on orthodontics, functional diagnostics, and craniofacial development. My work centers on the investigation of oral posture and its systemic implications, with particular emphasis on Open Mouth Posture Syndrome (OMPS). I am currently developing a prospective, controlled study design that integrates cross-sectional and longitudinal data across different stages of dentition to better understand functional and morphological correlations.

My academic interests lie at the intersection of clinical orthodontics, myofunctional therapy, and preventive medicine. I am especially interested in early diagnostics and the identification of modifiable risk factors that influence craniofacial growth and airway health.

In addition to my research activities, I am engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration and the translation of scientific findings into clinical practice. My goal is to contribute to a more function-oriented approach in orthodontics that improves long-term patient outcomes and supports holistic treatment strategies.

I teach at a German university, moderate the simplyORTHO congress, lecture internationaly, lead the global OMPS research initiative and finish my second PhD in Austria.
